Mp3 player question...?

i just got an mp3 player. its an RCA Lyra. it holds 50 songs right now but w/a memory card it can hold about 160. but i do not have a memory card. iw as just wondering if the cards u use are just like sd cards that u put in digital camera, if they ARE sd things, or if theres a specific thing i need to get. please let me know thanx
